Matt Brattin
Founder, TMB Analytics
I spent 20 years in the trenches of corporate finance.
I've run the close. Built the models. Defended the forecast. Sat in the board meeting where the number I presented got questioned and I had to think on my feet. I've been the analyst working until 4am, the director managing a team that was too small for the job, and the CFO carrying glass balls that couldn't touch the ground.
Through all of it, I saw the same pattern everywhere I went:
Brilliant finance professionals buried by the work. Spending 80% of their time on execution in reaction mode and 20% on the thinking that actually moves the business forward. Getting promoted for being indispensable, then getting trapped by it.
I left the corporate track to fix that.
Today I run TMB Analytics where I help finance and analytics professionals build careers as architects: shaping outcomes before they're asked for, building systems that survive the next ten projects, owning the strategic voice that gets them in the room where decisions happen.
